Ms. Blake walked along the edge of the soccer field, watching Eva pack up her things after practice. She paused for a moment, then called out, "Hey, Eva! How about staying a little longer? We can work on some drills ─ just the two of us." Eva hesitated. "I don't know, Coach. I'm pretty tired." Ms. Blake gave her a warm smile. "Just ten minutes. It'll be fun. I promise." Finally, Eva agreed, though she still seemed reluctant. They practiced passing the ball together. Ms. Blake noticed that Eva's movements were slow and that her focus seemed elsewhere. Breaking the silence, Ms. Blake asked, "Do you remember the final game last year?" "Yeah, I remember." Eva recalled the game where she scored three goals. "I was quite good back then." "You still are," replied Ms. Blake. "Well, now I'm so worried I can't score a goal or even pass the ball properly. I'm afraid of making mistakes," said Eva. Ms. Blake stepped closer and placed a reassuring hand on Eva's shoulder. She suggested, "You don't have to be perfect. Soccer isn't about perfection ─ it's about passion. And you've always had plenty of that." Eva's gaze met Ms. Blake's. "Do you really think so?" Ms. Blake said firmly, "Yes. The way you play, the energy you bring ─ that's what makes you special. Not the goals scored or the trophies won. It's the love you have for the game." Eva nodded thoughtfully. The next game, Ms. Blake watched from the sidelines as Eva played. There was a new confidence that hadn't been there before. Eva didn't score but led the team successfully. After the game she ran over, saying, "Thanks for believing in me, Coach." Ms. Blake smiled back. "You've always had it in you. I'm just here to remind you of that." Eva's face softened, as she realized she had been too hard on herself. She said to herself, "What matters is doing my best, not being perfect."

A wealthy businessman was driving his new sports car through a poor neighborhood. He was playing his music loudly and humming the song to himself, feeling good. Suddenly, he heard a bang as something hit the side of his car. He slammed on his brakes and jumped out. Lying next to his car was a big rock. He looked down the road and saw a boy just standing there. "What did you do to my car?" he yelled and ran toward the kid. He just stood there apologizing to him. "I'm really sorry, sir. But I couldn't help it because no one would stop to help me. Throwing that rock was the only way to make you stop." He pointed towards the sidewalk. "It's my older brother. He fell out of his wheelchair, and I can't pick him up." The boy wiped his eyes and said, "Can you help me?" The man realized that the boy was very upset, so he assured him that he would help. He walked over to the other boy, who was lying on the concrete next to an empty wheelchair. Carefully lifting him up, the man returned him to his wheelchair. He had suffered some cuts and bruises but was otherwise okay. The boy who had thrown the rock thanked him over and over. The man tried to respond, but he couldn't even speak. He was too shaken up by what just had happened. He watched as the boy slowly began to push his brother down the sidewalk, whispering happily into his ear. The man walked back to his car. The dent in his car door was deep and the paint was scratched a little, but he decided not to have it repaired. It wasn't important at all.

Sylvia Bloom worked at a law firm as a legal secretary in New York for 67 years. She was known for being unusually thrifty ─ for example, she always took the subway to work rather than taking a taxi. When she died at the age of 96, it was revealed that she had actually saved up a fortune worth $12 million. Even more surprisingly, she left instructions to donate most of it to charity! Bloom grew up during the Great Depression, so she knew the importance of saving money. She attended public schools as a child and took college courses at night as an adult while working during the day to earn a living. She and her husband Raymond, who passed away in 2002, never had any children, and they lived a comfortable but modest lifestyle. Bloom's niece, Jane Lockshin, believes it is possible that her uncle was completely unaware of the money. This is because Bloom kept it in several bank accounts she had in her own name. But how did a secretary earn so much money? She had a secret. In those days, it was common for secretaries to take care of many of their bosses' personal tasks, including their investments. Bloom used this to her advantage. Whenever Bloom's boss identified a promising stock, he would instruct Bloom to purchase a certain amount on his behalf. When she did, she would also use her own money to buy some of the same stock for herself. She couldn't afford to buy much, due to her small salary, but her strategy still made her a very wealthy woman. In her will, she left a small amount of money for her family. The rest will provide disadvantaged youths with college scholarships. Because of Bloom's clever strategy, many young people from poor families will receive a valuable education.

Jason had always dreamed of following in his father's footsteps and becoming an elite investor. He had shown tremendous talent in fund simulations, consistently outperforming his peers. After watching Jason's consistent performance over several months, his father decided it was finally time to create a real fund where Jason could start making his own investments with actual money. But Jason's move from the virtual world of investing to the real world got off to a rocky start. After choosing a gaming company as his first target, he spent a week analyzing financial statements, studying market trends, and diving deep into the company's competitive landscape. Finally, he wrote what he considered to be a comprehensive investment report. He confidently showed the report to his father. After glancing at the report for a couple of minutes, Jason's father handed him a document without a word. When he looked at it, he realized it was another report about the exact same company. As Jason read the report, his heart sank. It used vast amounts of data he hadn't even known existed and reached persuasive, impressively detailed conclusions. It was far superior to the report he had so painstakingly prepared. With trembling hands, he looked for the author's name at the end, but there was none. It had been written by artificial intelligence. "You spent a week writing your report, didn't you?" asked Jason's father. Jason nodded meekly. "Do you know how long it took to generate that AI report." he asked. "Less time than it took me to read your report. And mine is clearly superior to yours. Don't waste your time doing basic research and crunching numbers, son. Let AI do that for you. You need to focus on applying your uniquely human qualities to your investment decisions ─ intuition, empathy, and sensitivity. That's how you'll succeed." Jason realized he had learned an important lesson: in our modern world, humans and AI need to work together.

Henrietta is one of the greatest "queens of song." She had to go through a severe struggle before she attained the enviable position as the greatest singer Germany had produced. At the beginning of her career she was hissed off a Vienna stage by the friends of her rival, Amelia. But in spite of this defeat, Henrietta endured until all Europe was at her feet. Many years later, when Henrietta was at the height of her fame, one day she was riding through the streets of Berlin. Soon she came across a little girl leading a blind woman. She was touched by the woman's helplessness, and she impulsively beckoned the child to her, saying "Come here, my child. Who is that you are leading by the hand?" The answer was, "That's my mother, Amelia Steininger. She used to be a great singer, but she lost her voice, and she cried so much about it that now she can't see anymore." Henrietta inquired their address and then told the child, "Tell your mother an old acquaintance will call on her this afternoon." She searched out their place and undertook the care of both mother and daughter. At her request, a skilled doctor tried to restore Amelia's sight, but it was in vain. But Henrietta's kindness to her former rival did not stop here. The next week she gave a benefit concert for the poor woman, and it was said that on that occasion Henrietta sang as she had never sung before. And who can doubt that with the applause of that vast audience there was mingled the applause of the angels in heaven who rejoice over the good deeds of those below?
