Due to the severe winter conditions our region has been experiencing over the past few weeks, the town of Oakville is now struggling with supply issues related to the rock salt used to treat our icy roads. As our supply is dangerously low, we will be applying less rock salt to the roads than we usually do until we receive a new shipment. Therefore, residents are cautioned to be extra careful when driving around town. We will continue to remove snow from the roads and apply rock salt to hills, curves and intersections, but other parts of the roads may develop patches of ice. We would like to thank the town's employees for all of their efforts to keep the roads as safe as possible during this difficult time, and we would also like to thank all of our residents for their patience, cooperation and understanding.

Robert looked up as the nurse entered the room. She gave him a warm smile, but her face looked worn out and tired. It was late, and she probably had been working all day. Painfully pulling himself up into a sitting position in the bed, he accepted the small cup of pills she offered him. By the time he had swallowed them all, she was gone, leaving him alone again. His operation was in the morning, and still no one had come to visit him. Anything could happen tomorrow. The operation could be a great success, or it could be a failure. He should have been with his friends and family, but instead he was all by himself, waiting to see if the nurse would return. He tried to recall happier times in the past, but he couldn't think of any.

Today's economy is mostly industrial. Businesses and manufacturers rely on machines and artificial materials to create goods. However, it seems inevitable that we are moving towards a bioeconomy. Producing renewable bioresources and converting these resources and waste into value-added products such as food, feed, bio-based products and bioenergy are key to the bioeconomy. For example, natural materials such as sugarcane, corn and even animal waste can be used to make biofuels, as well as oils and fertilizers. In fact, there are endless possibilities for the industrial application and refinement of biological processes. Such a change in the way we do things will be challenging, but it will also be exciting. Together, we can find ways to replace old factories and machines with alternatives that do less harm to our planet. The future is coming, and we have a chance to make it smarter, cleaner and better for everyone.

It's natural to get nervous in certain situations. Nervousness is usually caused by the pressure we put on ourselves to do well, and a certain amount of nervousness can actually help us perform better. Unfortunately, we sometimes worry so much about making sure that everything is perfect that we accidentally undermine ourselves. Our nervousness drives us to start paying too much attention to little details that we normally handle automatically, especially when it comes to things that we do all the time. This kind of overly intense focus can disrupt our performance. It's like walking up a set of stairs, something you probably do every day without any problems. But if you start focusing on how to bend your knees properly or worrying about where you put your feet, there's a very good chance that you'll stumble and fall.

The New York Museum of Metropolitan of Art purchased an artifact ─ the gold-plated coffin of a first-century-BC priest ─ from an art dealer in 2017. But the museum announced that they would return the valuable artifact to its homeland, Egypt. This is because it was discovered that the coffin was stolen. There are more artifacts and works of art in European and American museums that were taken illegally from their homelands in the past. Museums should release information about where and how they obtain each artifact to the public. They should also assist in the process of returning artifacts which turn out to be stolen to their home countries. If any items do not have proper documentation, the museums should refuse to purchase them. If these positive steps are taken, artifacts will be more likely to remain in their home countries.

A young boy was playing basketball in the driveway of his home when the ball rolled into the street. Chasing after it, he was struck by a passing automobile and suffered serious head injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he lay in a coma after undergoing surgery. Despite the efforts of his doctors, as well as those of the friends and family members who came to visit him, he showed no signs of recovery. This continued for weeks, until one morning when his parents began talking about his pet dog, Cody. To their surprise, the boy seemed to respond to the dog's name, moving one of his arms and one of his legs. Excited, his parents requested permission from the boy's doctors to bring his dog into the hospital. After much discussion, the doctors agreed to let the dog into the boy's room during the next visiting hours. As soon as the dog was placed on the boy's bed, the boy began to react. Within moments he was reaching out and touching him with his hand. Finally, when the dog licked his face, the boy opened his eyes slowly for the first time in weeks. He even managed to say the dog's name a few times. Although the doctors are still not sure if he will ever recover completely, he has been making great progress since that day. Some people might consider what happened to be amazing. However, the doctors weren't surprised that the boy's dog managed to do what his friends and family members could not. "Children and their pets often have a very special relationship," said one of them. "In this case, the patient clearly loves his dog, and his dog loves him back. We will definitely continue to let them enjoy time together on a regular basis."
